About Troop 1094

Our Troop is chartered by GAP - Guardian Angels Parents. We meet at Hunter Community Center on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Our meetings start at 7:00 pm and end at 8:30 pm. The scouts usually play dodge ball or basketball until 9:00 pm. The scouts are expected to be ready for the opening flag ceremony. Scouts should be in Class A's for normal Troop Meetings. Occassionaly, the scouts will be asked to wear their Class B's. For special occasions and trips, the scouts are required to wear Class A's.

Scout Leadership

The Troop is a boy lead program. There is a Parent Committee to oversee the organization and activities of the Troop. The Scout Leaders meet monthly to decide what the Troop will be doing. Activities, Troop Meetings and campouts are normally planned six (6) months in advance.

Outdoor Adventure

The Troop normally goes camping each month. During the winter, we sometimes have an "inside" camping trip. We normally attend Summer Camp at Cole Canoe Base in Alger, Michigan. For our monthly campouts, we have gone to D-Bar-A, Cole Canoe Base, Traverse City Sand Dunes, and even Camp Grayling. Some of the "inside" campouts have been to Toronto, and Chicago / Great Lakes Naval Base. Each year, we try to have a family campout as well. For High Adventure, the scouts have gone Rock Climbing at Grand Ledge, MI and White-water Rafting in Ohiopyle, PA.

Community Service

The troop regularly tries to become involoved in local community service projects. Some of our most recent projects include repairing signs for Cummingston Park and Quickstad Park in Royal Oak, collecting food for the Can-Do program, and working jointly with the Weblos to help maintain local Boy Scout campground facilities.
